♦ The buffer settings allow you to fine tune the length of the audio buffer that DJ Surface uses internally. If you hear sound occasionally breaking up, you can increase the length of the audio buffer. Useful for slower computers.
♦ The recording settings include the quality of the recording in kilo bits per second, kbps, the more kbps - the better the sound quality. When no licence is installed, the quality defaults to the WMA format at 32 kbps which will allow you to hear the mix but wont be the best quality. However, if you are going to listen to your mix on a mobile device, you may want a lower quality recording to save space. Other options include selecting the recording folder and presetting the title and author tags that are embedded within the recording.
♦ The logging settings allow you to enable or disable track logging to a specific folder. This is usefull if you need to automatically create a tracklisting. Perhaps you have a public performance licence and need to know what tracks you have played in public.
♦ If you purchase a licence, you enter it here. It removes the 20 minute per session mix limitation and allows you to record at higher bit rates (kbps).
♦ Other options allow you to enable processing with 32 bit audio streams, save the rendered waveforms to disk to allow faster loading next time round, allow you to see errors, if they occur and to automatically check for updates or display Quick Help when you start DJ Surface.
♦ By default, DJ Surface uses 16 bit audio streams to provide better soundcard driver compatibility.
